My Bohemian Summer [see previous journal] ended, but before it did, I had several of my dreams come true, and I began to open my mind to art, people, and life outside of my usual interests [which is cool]. Now that the chilly air of Rocktober has finally set in, let me share with you my rock'n'roll autumn.

I literally drowned September in tears [as most Septembers since 2002]. September is a great excuse and I'd had too much. Now until next September I'll bite my lips and clench my fists. Or at least I'll try. Anyway, I'm back to traditional media [only for a while, I'm trying to find some time for CG and a photoshoot or two] and it's kinda cool :). I guess autumn is a great season for that. You kinda need a warm tea with a friend or two, the smell of cookies, and a picture with flowers on the wall [like this one: [link] ].

Talking bout rock'n'roll... I'm sure it was hard to impress me after Placebo's latest album, Battle for the Sun came out, cos it was soooooo amazing, but... I never thought I'd be THIS disappointed with Tokio Hotel's new album, Humanoid. I mean, they are such a talented band and working with some of the greatest people in the industry, but they 'borrowed' so much from here and there, it's really hard to find what exactly they wrote themselves. Lyrically, there's not a single song that managed to touch me. And it's not because I've grown up [yea, Tokio Hotel, get over it, you've never been Emo]. Just for the experiment, I listened to their earlier albums, and at least four songs produced the same emotion as before [as for the rest, well... :)]. I really don't know what's going on. I ranted about the Rasmus' latest album and ended up loving it, but this is not the case. What a pity for Bill Kaulitz's beautiful voice. You can tell his technique has improved, but half the time he has backing vocals and effects layered on top of his voice, and this combined with the 'borrowings' from classic rock hits and tasteless experimentation... you get the idea.

So, someone suggest me another Visual Kei band that writes songs in English and is NOT Cinema Bizarre - they have a great dressing style, but somehow the songs don't cut it for me. Otherwise, Miyavi's cool, but he doesn't sing in English. Any other suggestions? [I know AFI, I'm not sure if it counts]

Wrapping this up, let me invite you all to my blog, which is gradually becoming a sinister and cobweb-covered place. There, I exorcise my demons and share the nightmares I see with the world. Everything that makes me sleep with the lights on, at [link].
